OUR ENGAGEMENTS
At VIOLET, we think and design products to minimize their impact on the environment. The first initiative was to opt for a solid shape. In addition to being in line with its predecessors, solid soaps are less polluting than their liquid colleagues. For example, the use of superfluous and environmentally harmful plastic packaging is avoided. Our breads are perfectly protected by sustainably sourced, recyclable and FSC-certified paper.
As a reminder, each year in France, 186 million bottles of shower gel are sold. It is estimated according to ADEME that including shampoos, they generate 16,000 tonnes of packaging per year, of which only 40% will be recycled.
Moreover, the overexploitation of palm oil being devastating for the environment, we favored copra and sunflower oils to compose the base of the soap.
Finally, we surround ourselves with local players. Located in Lorraine, our processor is supplied with sunflower oil from French fields. Such a choice makes it possible to significantly reduce the carbon footprint linked to transport.

A HISTORICAL SOAP FACTORY
Before perfume, the reputation of Violet perfumery was first forged with another product; the soap.
In 1828 VIOLET and GUENOT, two partners based in Paris filed a patent for a new type of cosmetic: a thridace soap. This intimidating term nevertheless qualifies a natural component: LETTUCE JUICE.
Today, Violet reconnects with its origins and offers you the reinterpretation of an icon that has made the reputation of the House.
“Soap is one of Perfumery's most important products. Also Maison Violet, of which all products of this kind have a universal reputation in France and abroad, never ceases to bring all its care to their preparation as well as to their improvement. »
Le Charivari, November 8, 1879
