FRAGRANCE DEVELOPMENT
DESIGN
By working with Firmenich, a major player in the perfume industry, we guarantee optimal quality, reinforced control, increased monitoring and irreproachable compliance for each product.
Moreover, thanks to the genius of master perfumer Nathalie Lorson, our juices benefit from an ideal and incomparable creative vision.
Finally, each olfactory concentrate is imagined in Paris and produced in Switzerland.
NATURAL INGREDIENTS
The ingredients of natural origin used in the composition of our perfumes are sourced sustainably and fairly thanks to responsible partnerships. Many aids have been put in place to develop and sustain the activity of farmers. The use of naturalness is important for VIOLET, both for the quality of the formula and to support local economies.
Find some of the natural raw materials used for our creations on the respective pages of each fragrance.
SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS
At VIOLET we seek to reconcile our customers with synthesis. Many brands have intentionally discredited chemical raw materials. It is both irresponsible and reckless. Starting from the premise that nature is literally made up of chemical reactions, the only real subject lies in the use of responsible and green chemistry. The synthesis, correctly used, makes it possible to preserve the environment, by avoiding for example the felling of trees, overexploitation and impoverishment of the soil or even animal exploitation. Chemistry is also used to reduce the carbon footprint of certain naturals.
PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
PRIMARY PACKAGING
The CYCLE range, developed by an Italian partner, has been completely eco-designed. Refillable and optimized, each bottle has been fashioned with 50% less glass, reducing the quantity of materials required and limiting CO2 emissions during transport.
Our Heritage bottles are made by a French glassmaker and their caps are made of Zamak. Thanks to its cold touch and generous weight, this alloy is the flagship element of niche perfumery. This choice of material met market requirements at the time. Today, we are all too aware of its polluting attributes and its disproportionate weight for its function.
Respecting the codes of perfumery is good, transcending them for a greater goal is better. We are currently looking for a more ecological alternative to Zamak while maintaining the quality specific to our house.
SECONDARY PACKAGING
Since 2022, all the components of our secondary packaging have been made in France and our French partner has provided us with a wide variety of eco-designed products. With them, we are able to select qualitative and ecological components.
They had supported us in particular for the packaging of CYCLE 001. The latter was biodegradable and made from recycled components.
Our new boxes are made from FSC-certified paper, made from 40% recycled fibers and cellophane-free. The cellophane wrapping step has been removed from our production lines to avoid the use of unnecessary plastic.
SOAP
The first initiative was to opt for a solid form. In addition to being in line with its predecessors, solid soaps are less polluting than their liquid colleagues. For example, the use of superfluous and environmentally harmful plastic packaging is avoided. Our breads are perfectly protected by sustainably sourced, recyclable and FSC-certified paper.
As a reminder, each year in France, 186 million bottles of shower gel are sold. It is estimated according to ADEME that including shampoos, they generate 16,000 tonnes of packaging per year, of which only 40% will be recycled.
Moreover, the overexploitation of palm oil being devastating for the environment, we favored copra and sunflower oils to compose the base of the soap.
Finally, we surround ourselves with local actors. Located in Lorraine, our processor is supplied with sunflower oil from French fields. Such a choice makes it possible to significantly reduce the carbon footprint linked to transport.
ASSEMBLY
CONDITIONER
It is also essential for us to entrust the assembly of our products to a French conditioner. Our partner is ISO22716:2008 certified, ie it complies with the standards of good manufacturing practices.
